Help answer the question about bathroom

How do you renovate a bathroom?
I want to renovate my bathroom, but have no clue what to do. Where do I begin? The bathroom has a sink, toilet, bath/shower that is stainless steel and will need a plastic liner, and has ceramic tiling on the floor that we want to remove. We also need to redo the walls because of rot and mold. This bathroom has not been renovated in 40 years.
Edit: the tub is cast iron, not stainless steel.

Do you have men or boys in your home? If so, the floors and walls around the toilet need to be cleaned regularly, as well as the toilet itself. You may need to replace the toilet seat and any bath mats or rugs that you have in the bathroom.

If you have carpet around the toilet it should be cleaned with something that will neutralize the urine. I've found that spraying white vinegar on the carpet works well. The vinegar smell will dissipate as it dries and you can then clean the carpet with something a little more fragrant.

Wall paper will also absorb urine and I've tried lightly spraying and wiping it with vinegar and it helps, but I've also had to completely strip the paper and paint the bathroom to get the smell out of the walls. Good luck. I hope you find something that will solve your problem.

@linklord87 Because of the adult humor, they found it unsuitable for children so they chose some certain episodes and those are play over and over.

Unbelievable great timing!

@tretenmerth no pewnie, że nie polski….

Fantastic =)

Look for a GFI breaker or receptacle and reset it with the button. Modern bathrooms are required by code to be on their own circuits.

Don't use flat paint, I't grows mold really easy. I used to own a painting busines. We always used semi gloss or gloss paint for the bathrooms. I saw some one else recomend Behr paints from Home dept, My advice is not to use it. I found it required a lot of extra prep and even mutiple coats to get good coverage. I like the look of the bathroom walls and ceiling the same color.Good luck

3.l bathrooms means the house has 3 and 1/2 bathrooms literally. It has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the baths. A half stipulates a powder room which could be very small or quite large. Same with all the baths. Their sizes are determined by the square footage of the home. Obviously 3 1/2 baths in a 4000 sq. ft. home are going to be much larger than 3 1/2 in a 1500 sq. ft. home.

I would enjoy designing this bathroom for you. i have 4 years exp. in design and drafting. Let me know

Start from the bottom up, if you have ceramic tiles, you will have to temporily removed the toilet bowl, and any counters to remove all of it, and its hard work but worth it if the bathroom is that old. If the bath/shower stall needs replacing that has to go. Pretty well your going to gut the bathroom.
The walls can be tiled after you remove the mold, if that is possible or rip out the drywall and re do that. Yes its a big job, and I am doing it in my bathroom, its going to be nice. Go to Home Depot for some pointers -they have classes on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and probably have all the materials you will need. Good luck with your project.
